To help man survive in a then alien world, he needed to remember what happened in the past, both to him personally and to the species as a whole.

REMEMBERING the past was originally meant as a tool for survival, then later as an aid to ease the everyday running of a physical life, but sometime during man’s early evolution, this ability to remember seemed to acquire a mind of its own – an entity that we now call the ego. The ego does not really exist, rather it’s more of a mental disorder.

But if that was the case, why is it made out to be such an important step in our personal growth, and why would taking that step be so hard for us to do?

CONNECTED to our soul/true self, the ego is an integral component for our complete physical experience. It is our body’s intelligence whose only purpose is to look after the running of the human machine, but somewhere along the line it overstepped its boundaries and took over our sense of identity.

THE ONLY REASON it’s so difficult for us to leave our past behind and live in the present moment is that we believe we are this constantly thinking chatterbox in our head, and while ever we have this false sense of identity, that’s the last thing in the world we would want to do, for it would mean the end of our illusory self – the ego.
