A Fleeting Moment
HOW MARVELOUS IT IS TO FEEL ALIVE… To be a special someone with a life story full of memories that’s all your own. But at the same time, it’s a bit scary when you think that: ‘Inevitably, all this must end, I’m going to grow old and die’… The painful truth is, your existence as a unique human being is only temporary.
You are only here for a fleeting moment, and when the time does come where you are old and close to death, you will reflect on your past experiences, on how you spent your time, and how often you took life for granted. You will then give anything to re-live the good bits, to appreciate your life more than you did.
Wouldn’t you give your right arm if you could re-experience some bits of your life again right now? So imagine yourself being on your deathbed and wishing you could go back for just 30 seconds to extract more experience from life and to fully appreciate how amazing it is.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed
by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did do.
The awareness that physical life is a fleeting experience helps you to cultivate grace, lightness and love. Negative emotions like anger, jealousy and greed seem a waste of precious time. The thing is, your whole life revolves around the present moment. Consider this moment right now. What are you doing with it?
You always have a choice… you can take control of your life right now. You can laugh and realize that your life is an absolutely precious gift, or you can choose instead to allow your life to be determined by outside influences and your own inner negativities. The power is in your hands!
You have the ability to live in peace, even in the midst of the mayhem of life. And the most amazing thing is, the more peace you have within yourself, the more peace there will be in the world. World peace literally starts with you. What an ideal opportunity you have…
Dan’s Quote: “Death asked Life: ‘Why does everyone love you and hate me?’
_____________Life replied: ‘Because I am a beautiful lie and you are a painful truth.’”
