Your Life Is Yours Alone

Jumping for joy on Fraser Island

DO ANY OF US EVER SUCCEEDED in accomplishing what we set out to do?  We make a commitment to go on a diet. We decide to run around the block every day, but after eating rabbit food or struggling up that hill a few times, we relent and quickly lose enthusiasm.

There is a multitude of bad habits that we think we have, habits that we feel must be eliminated from our life. Why? To make us feel better? To live longer? To be trim, taught and terrific? Just what the hell are we punishing ourselves for?

Has doing any of this stuff ever made us happy, even just a little bit? Or has it made us feel guilty and bad about ourselves because we know that time and time again we have failed and we’ll probably fail this time too. Oh well, we say, so what, better luck next time.

Your life is yours alone, so rise up and live it.
You can be nothing more than what you are… nothing more, nothing less.

The thing is, whatever we think we are on the outside, fat, skinny, ugly, or even if we feel insecure or lacking in something… whatever… on the inside we are perfect in every way, always have been, always will be. We are worthy of this gift of life. We are meant to be here.

We have a purpose, an important role to play in the ongoing evolution of this fantastic universe. We are on a journey of discovery. So lighten up, relax. Whether we realize it or not, it’s all going according to plan.

So don’t give a damn if you fail to lose weight or stop smoking. So what! Sit back and enjoy the ongoing ride of your life, wherever it may take you. Whatever opinion you have of yourself, realize that you are loved and cherished exactly as you are…

Dan’s Quote: “Leave no time to sit and think about tomorrow,
______________when today fills up all your time and energy.”
