Forks In The Road

THE BASIC THREAD OF OUR LIFE IS PLANNED. Within this thread are the experiences we need to undergo. Life situations where we failed to learn the lessons from previous incarnations… and life situations that we have yet to encounter.

From these experiences, we learn, grow and mature both as a human being and as a spiritual being. This is a never ending quest for perfection. The trick is to learn from the challenges that confront us.

There is a strict disciplinary code that we must adhere to. Like a school teacher disciplines wayward children, our disciplinary teacher in the school of life is known as ‘Karma’ or cause and effect, an unbreakable law of the cosmos.

Every thought, every action that you put out into the world has a consequence
that will come back at you, either in this life, or in a life to come.

The Golden Rule is: ‘Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.’ How you treat your fellow man will be returned to you in kind… it will either come back to bite you where it hurts or kiss you gently where it doesn’t.

The future can and does change depending on our actions/reactions to life’s challenges.
Every decision we make is a fork in the road
.

Any attitude that doesn’t contain within it, love, compassion and understanding retards our growth. Any attitude that does contain those attributes… advances our growth.

“Nothing ever goes away until it teaches us what we need to know.”~ Pema Chodron

Every day, we are confronted with decisions to either be friendly or unfriendly to someone. The consequences of how we respond, dire or not, falls back heavily on our own shoulders. We cannot do anything to free ourselves from karma, but with free will we do have a choice.

Be aware before you are about to hurt, chastise, ridicule, abuse or be ‘un-nice’ to someone. For the way you are about to treat them, could in time, impose a dreadful penalty upon yourself…

Dan’s Quote: “How people treat you is their karma… how you react is yours.”
