SO MANY QUESTIONS…

reflexions

HAVE you ever sat outside in the late evening and looked up at the night sky, mesmerized by the marvel and splendour of the Milky Way and its myriad stars? Have you ever wondered what’s out there? Is that where we came from? Is that where we will go when our time here is finished?

The questions that we may ask about the universe, and life for that matter, are unanswerable – as long as we are here on this physical plane anyway. Many have tried to fathom it out, some ignorantly believe that they know, but in reality, none of us know the answer. Some of us are simply content to wonder at the beauty of it all.

What is there in that bright scattering of light that beckons us? Is there not some part of us that looks to the furnaces of space and sees our own beginnings? What is this longing to return to the darkness beyond?

Our world is crowded, just look at the distance to our neighbour, but neither man’s measuring devices, nor even the speed of light from the stars themselves can measure the limits of the soul or the constraints of the spirit. Do we not see, as we gaze down eternity, the depths of our own soul?

The fact that a man’s body is a speck of dust on a small planet leads to the illusion that man himself is a small creation, yet the measure of man’s soul is the limitless activity of mind and the grandeur of imagination…
